100-page GOP outreach report

Let me say this plainly:

If this new GOP plan to reach groups that it hasn't been able to is basically repackaging the message it has had for the past few years - it won't work. Part of it is to reach black voters at historically black colleges by talking about Republican ideas. If that's it, they shouldn't bother. The GOP has gotten its message out. That's the part a lot of Republicans seem to not understand.

The message has been rejected, in part because of the way it has been delivered, but also because it feels myopic, as though the party wants to go back to the good old days - an era that was not all that good to many of the groups the GOP says it wants to reach today.

I've been saying this for awhile and will continue to. If the GOP really wants to breakthrough, it must help black and Latino voters solve the inequality problems in the criminal justice and educational systems, as well as evening out the great economic divide that is being fueled by a tax system that rewards those already on top and punishes those who receive a salary.

Repackaging the same old ideas won't cut it.
