The South Strand Lions Club held its sixth annual golf tournament on March 2 at Wachesaw East golf course. The tournament was a great success. Our success was due, in large part, to the efforts of The Sun News.

Our special thanks go out to senior writer D.G. Schumacher. D.G. has been a big part of our success. He has worked with us over the past several years: writing about us, directing us to other departments of the newspaper and stepping up for us when needed. I personally want to thank D.G. for all of his efforts. We would not be where we are today without you. Your newspaper can be very proud of D.G. Schumacher.
