Firefighters raising money to help child burn victims go to camp

Published: March 14, 2013

— Starting St. Patrick’s Day, firefighters in Georgetown County will wear green t-shirts instead of their regular blue uniform shirts.

The shirts were sold as part of a fundraiser to help send child burn victims to Camp Can Do – a camp for kids age 6 to 17 who have been treated for serious burns, said Jackie Broach, spokeswoman for Georgetown County.

So far, firefighters have raised $1,200 and are still collecting donations.

Donations can be dropped off at any Georgetown County Fire Station or can be mailed to Georgetown County Administration, Attn. Jackie Broach, 716 Prince Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
