North Myrtle Beach nearing completion of street end improvements

Published: March 14, 2013

The improvements at 49th Avenue South include new parking for cars and golf carts, showers, restrooms and a handicap access over the dunes to the beach.

— Oceanfront street end improvements at 39th Avenue South and 46th Avenue South will be completed in about two weeks, according to information from Pat Dowling, the city’s spokesman.

The street ends were closed in October so that new parking lots, restrooms and showers could be added.

In addition, a new handicap access dune walkover has been installed at the 46th Avenue site, and existing pedestrian/emergency vehicle beach access at 39th Avenue has been improved.
