Crash on U.S. 501 near Myrtle Beach causes delays

— A crash in the beach bound lanes of U.S. 501 at the Intracoastal Waterway is caused delays Wednesday night.

The crash, reported about 8:15 p.m., was in the southbound lanes of U.S. 501 at the waterway bridge and had injuries, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

More specific details of the crash, including how many cars are involved and the extent of the injuries was not immediately available.

Brooke Edwards, said she was stopped behind the crash for about 45 minutes and that traffic started moving again a little after 9 p.m.
