Piccadilly Circus ‘Blammo!’

Touring with its “Blammo!” show, the Piccadilly Circus of Sarasota, Fla., will perform at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. March 18-19 in the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, at Oak Street and 21st Avenue North. Other parts of the experience include the Cossack Warriors, a white tiger showcase, a petting zoo, camel calf feeding, and a “My Little Pony” parade. Take in two new art exhibits in Conway and Georgetown, free of charge:

• See the work of nine Horry County artists – Jim Arendt, Lon Calhoun, Jack Cayton, Ruth Cox, Armon Means, Easton Selby, Emily Smith, and Ed and Barb Streeter – in the Create! Conway Invitational Art Exhibit through April 19. An exhibit of pictures by members of the Carolinas’ Nature Photographers Association, Myrtle Beach region, opens with a reception 2-4 p.m. March 16 at the Rice Museum Prevost Gallery, 633 Front St., Georgetown. Dogs flash agility

Dogs thrived on their own stage March 2-3 for a Dock Dogs competition at the Winyah Bay Heritage Festival in Georgetown.

Pooches also will pursue ribbons in an agility competition March 15-17 by A Way to Play Dog Agility Club, at A Dog’s Way Inn, 761 Pendergrass Ave., Murrells Inlet, west of U.S. 17. ‘Wildlife and History Day’

Huntington Beach State Park, on U.S. 17 between Murrells Inlet and Litchfield Beach, will have its 19th Annual Wildlife and History Day, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. March 16.

The many programs include:

• Raptor demonstration at 1 p.m. by Center for Birds of Prey of Awendaw.

• Camp Flintlock, a group of historical re-enactors presenting hands-on programs to immerse visitors in activities from colonial times, such as fife and drum music and writing with quill and ink.

• Tours, such as a guided walk along the edge of Mallard Pond to observe alligators, and educational outlets covering beachcombing, sea creatures, local mammals and snakes.

• Fish printing – Bring a blank T-shirt for a special souvenir.

• Music by bluegrass band Cornbread ‘n Biscuits.

• The courtyard of Atalaya, the former home of Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, with activities by various groups, including visits with animals and displays of local seashells and fossils.

Programs are free with park admission: $5 ages 16 and older, $3.25 S.C. seniors, $3 ages 6-15, and Atalaya tours by the Friends of Huntington Beach State Park are $2 for ages 6 and older, otherwise free. Park hours are 6 a.m.-10 p.m.
