— A former Myrtle Beach High football player was indicted on a charge that he carried a gun onto school property in December, according to Horry County Grand Jury indictments released Monday.

Timothy Jevon “T.J.” Jones, 19, was indicted on a charge of carrying a weapon on school property in connection with the Dec. 18 incident at the high school located at 3302 Robert Grissom Parkway, according to court records.

Jones was arrested on the charge in January by Myrtle Beach police, who were notified Dec. 21 about the incident, according to a police report.

Police said Jones was seen carrying a gun in a locker room at the school. Jones, who was a 2012 Myrtle Beach High graduate, returned to town for a basketball scrimmage along with other former players with the school’s team.

Jones signed with the University of Kentucky to play football for the university and was listed on their roster last season as a freshman offensive tackle.
