Public hearing planned for Constitutional Carry Act

— A public hearing will be held next week in Myrtle Beach allowing public comment on the proposed S.C. Constitutional Carry Act of 2013.

A Senate subcommittee was formed to study the bill which addresses the lawful and unlawful carrying of handguns and other weapons.

Myrtle Beach area Senator Greg Hembree is part of the committee, along with senators Lee Bright, Brad Hutto, Gerald Malloy and Shane Martin.

The Myrtle Beach hearing is March 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ted C. Collins Law Enforcement Center at 1101 North Oak Street.
