MYRTLE BEACH — A Socastee teen was released on $10,500 bail after Horry County police charged him in connection with a woman being choked and bitten, according to authorities.
Brandon Dale Sutton, 19, was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention at 8:39 a.m. and released at 4:56 p.m. Sunday on charges of malicious damage to personal property value of $2,000 or less and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, according to jail records.
An 18-year-old woman called her grandparents during the incident and they called police, who responded at 7 a.m. Sunday to a home on Smith Boulevard, according to the report. The victim told police she arrived the day before to spend the night with Sutton and she hid his liquor bottle, so he would not drink.
The victim said Sutton woke up and became angry that his bottle was hidden, according to the report. The victims said Sutton threatened to kill her, forced his way into the bathroom where she was hiding and slapped her.
The victim said Sutton then bit her on the face, choked her and threw her phone into the toilet, according the report. Sutton told police that the victim punched him in the nose and he denied assaulting her.
Police noticed an odor of alcohol coming from Sutton and did not find any injuries consistent with him being punched in the face, according to the report. Police took him into custody at the house.
