— A man wearing a baseball hat that said “police” on it rob a Pawleys Island bank Friday morning, said Carrie Cuthbertson, spokeswoman for the Georgetown County Sheriff’s office.

Deputies were called to the Conway National Bank at 10608 Ocean Highway about 10:30 a.m. for the armed robbery.

Cuthbertson said the man demanded money from an employee and fled the bank on foot headed south with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He is believed to be in his 30s or early 40s with short grey hair, glasses and wearing the police baseball cap with a black leather jacket and military style cargo pants.

Deputies canvassed the area with a bloodhound tracking team, but the trail was lost and the man was not found. No one was injured during the incident.
