About 16 job seekers walked away from a recent job fair in North Myrtle Beach with a new employer, according to the event’s organizers.
More than 450 people attended the Feb. 28 job fair at Myrtle Beach Mall, submitting 930 applications. In addition to the 16 who were hired during the fair, 10 were sent to an orientation later that day and several others scheduled follow-up interviews.
About 35 businesses participated, including BlueCross/Blue Shield of South Carolina, Apache Family Campground and Horry-Georgetown Technical College. More than 600 jobs were available.
The third annual job fair is sponsored by Palmetto Goodwill and the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce.
