Galivants Ferry man dies in car crash near Aynor

— A Galivants Ferry man died Wednesday morning when his car veered off the road and flipped, said Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins with the S.C. Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the Aynor area of Horry County, according to the patrol’s traffic website.

Norman Johnson, 56, died from multiple trauma received in the crash, said Horry County deputy coroner Darris Fowler. Johnson died at the scene.

Johnson was driving a 1990 Ford truck west on Valley Forge Road near S.C. 410 in the Aynor area when he ran off the right side of the road and his car overturned, Collins said.. Johnson was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred about 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The wreck remains under investigation.
