MYRTLE BEACH — A Myrtle Beach woman was jailed late Monday after police said she assaulted a 23-year-old man during an argument about their rent, according to authorities.
Lisa Marie Groves, 31, was charged with third-degree assault and battery and at 6:30 a.m. Monday remained jailed pending a bond hearing in Myrtle Beach.
Police were called at 4:30 p.m. Monday to a convenience store, Circle K at 1100 N. Kings Highway, and found the victim, who suffered scratch marks on his face, according to the report. The victim told police he argued with Groves about rent and she assaulted.
The officer wrote in the report he saw Groves and the victim arguing in the area of Mr. Joe White Avenue and North Ocean Boulevard before the victim called police to report the assault, according to the report. Officers found Groves near the store and took her into custody.
