MYRTLE BEACH — Roads were closed around the Myrtle Beach campus of Horry Georgetown Technical College Monday afternoon after a gas line was ruptured, said Bruce Arnel, Myrtle Beach Fire Marshall.
Contractors, in the process of looking for a utility line, ruptured a six-inch gas line, Arnel said. There were no evacuations to the neighboring homes, but some streets were blocked off and Myrtle Beach police directed traffic around the area.
The rupture occurred about 3 p.m. and is expected to be repaired by 5 p.m.
