Horry County police accuse Loris man of assaulting woman, two juveniles

Published: March 4, 2013

— A Loris man was arrested by Horry County police on Saturday for allegedly assaulting a woman and two children.

Anthony Wayne Harvey, 42, was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on charges of criminal domestic violence and cruelty to children. He was released Sunday under a $3,000 bond.

According to a police report, Harvey was intoxicated when he returned to the Loris home and became violent with the three victims. He allegedly threw the two children into a bedroom wall and attacked the woman.

The three tried to leave, and Harvey reportedly picked the girls up on the porch and threw them onto the ground before throwing the woman on top of them and pouring a beer on her head, the report stated.

Eventually, the three were able to get to a neighbor’s house and call 911. A medic arrived on the scene and treated one of the girls for injuries sustained after Harvey allegedly slammed her hand and foot in a truck door.
