Police charge Myrtle Beach man with armed robbery of Dollar Store deposit money

— Police say a Myrtle Beach man stole a bank bag at gunpoint from a Dollar Tree employee as he was depositing the money into a bank last November.

Daniel Frank Mclean, 20, was arrested Feb. 12 and charged with armed robbery and robbery while armed, according to Capt. Dave Knipes of the Myrtle Beach Police Department. Ryan Lee Abrams, 27, was charged with armed robbery.

Knipes said Abrams was the driver of a vehicle used in the robbery, Knipes said.

According to the police report, an officer responded to the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot located at 2110 N. Oak St. at about 9:30 p.m. for a reported armed robbery. The victim told the officer that when the he got out of his vehicle to deposit two bank bags into the drop, a man – allegedly Mclean – walked up to the victim, put a handgun to his head and demanded money.

The victim told police he pushed Mclean away but he was able to grab one of the bank bags and run into the woods near the bank.

Police arrested Abrams Sunday.
