Conway High School team members look at their robot in the 2013 FIRST Robotics Palmetto Regional Competition on Friday, March 1, 2013. The competition continues through Saturday at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. High school teams from around the world, including several local teams, competed in qualifying matches. The finals begin at 1:30 on Saturday. The convention center is located off Oak Street. The competition is called Ultimate Ascent. The robots are placed on a 27 by 57 foot field and each robot slings flying discs through targets. The matches end with the robots trying to climb pyramids on the field.
