Festivals north, south

The north and south ends of the Strand boast fests:

• Winyah Bay Heritage Festival, benefiting Georgetown County Museum, including “Dock Dogs,” opens for two days through Sunday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in East Bay Park, on east end of Front Street in Georgetown, for $10 ages 13 and older – or $15 for both days – otherwise free. • Winter Parrot Head Fest, noon-5 p.m. at LaBelle Amie Vineyard, 1120 St. Joseph Road, Little River, just west of North Myrtle Beach Middle School, with music by the Paul Grimshaw Band, and The Jamaican Jerks; $8 ages 18-79, otherwise free; also, bring two canned/dry food items for relay to area food banks for $3 discount. 399-9463 or www.labelleamie.com.

Tour spans eight homes

Take the 13th annual Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum Spring Tour of Homes benefit. Buy tickets, for $45, at the museum, 3100 S. Ocean Blvd., Myrtle Beach, or at these other sites in the city: Four Seasons Interiors, 7730 N. Kings Highway; Knotting Hill Interiors, 7753 N. Kings; Pink Cabana, 5900 N. SpeedPark reopens

NASCAR SpeedPark’s reopens for 2013, and the first 25 people through the gate receive free unlimited wristbands for opening day. Daily hours through March 31 are 11 a.m.-9 p.m., then shifting to 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Details at 918-8725 or nascarspeedpark.com/sc.aspx.
