— A new veterinary clinic is scheduled to open this week near the intersection of U.S. 17 and S.C. 544, according to a news release.

Grand opening for the new practice is set for Saturday at Banfield Pet Hospital at 1391 South Commons Drive. The news release said there will be contests, giveaways, refreshments, tours and opportunities to ask the veterinarians questions.

The clinic will donate 20 percent of its opening weekend revenue to The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach, the release said.

The clinic will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Staff veterinarians include Dr. Kevin Kelley and Dr. Kristin Chapman.
