The scene of a shooting at University Place across S.C. 544 from Coastal Carolina University on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013. Kaitlin Eriksen was in her apartment about two balconies away from the scene. She said she heard four or five shots in quick succession and then went to her balcony to see what had happened. She said she saw the victim slam his hand on the back window of a gold sedan, take two steps back and then collapse. She said the gold car "just sped off out of here." Eriksen said several people went to help the victim and were trying to get him in the back of a car to drive him to Conway Medical Center nearby, but "he was too big to fit into the back of the car.
