Mary Canty leaves the Myrtle Beach Colored School on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013. Canty was honored by Myrtle Beach City Council with her own day on Friday. She hopes to get together with her family to celebrate. On the long list of her accomplishments is helping to restore some of the school memorabilia and open the school as a place to learn.
