Horry County names Employee of the Year

Published: February 16, 2013

— Horry County's Employee of the Year has been chosen. Scott Ritchie was chosen as this year's recipient of the Randy Faulk Employee of the Year Award. The award is named for Randy Faulk, the first person to receive the Employee of the Year title back in 2006. Faulk passed away from cancer three years after receiving the award.

Ritchie has worked for the county since 2005. He is a Network Engineer at the Horry County Information Technology/GIS Department. As the winner, he received a plaque and a check for $1,000.

Besides working to switch over all phone lines from Verizon/Fronier to HTC, Ritchie is responsible for all cell phones and smart phones used by county employees, assisting with repairs, replacements, training, set-up and new activations.

Two runners-up were also chosen. Alicia Sanders, who works for the Horry County Emergency Mangagement Department and Vivian Gosnell, who works in the Horry County Assessor's Office, each received a check for $500.
