DENMARK In a riveting, edge-of-your-seat finish, Carvers Bay took Denmark-Olar to overtime with a powerful offensive presence, ending up in a Bears’ victory 67-65.

Desiree Green scored 25 points for Carvers Bay, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Anastasia Bromell added 25 and Quantasia Robinson scored 11.

Ta’Asia Wright’s game-high 27 points wasn’t enough for Denmark-Olar.

CCU Women’s Golf

Coastal senior Brittany Henderson finished tied for eighth out of the 99 competitors at the annual UCF Challenge, landing her the Big South Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for the second time in her career. This was Henderson’s second top-10 finish of the season and 15th of her career as a Chanticleer.

Henderson opened the tournament with a 2012-13 season-best score of 2-under par 70. In the final two rounds, she shot a 73, finishing at even-par with a 54-hole tally of 216. As a whole, Henderson carded 12 birdies and 33 pars over the three days of competition at the par-72, 6,374-yard Redtail Golf Club.
