Closing of Veterans Cafe a shame

February 12, 2013

We are very disappointed that the Veterans Café owned by Lou Mascherino and his wife will be closing or having to relocate. It is near the veterans clinic, so handy for many to go there and be treated to a fine, home-cooked meal at a reasonable price, along with the sincere welcome one is given.

Perhaps the new owners of the building will rethink the eviction of two fine businesses that cater to our men and women in uniform and those who have previously served our country.

We are from Maine, and we look forward to eating at the Veterans Café when we are in Myrtle Beach, and we know many other people do as well.

We wish the best for the Mascherinos -- that being able to stay where they are with the fine display of military memorabilia and photos that mean so much to those who enter the premises.

Blessings as you decide, new owners.
