MYRTLE BEACH — Georgetown County sheriff deputies helped North Carolina police arrest a couple on charges related to the death of their 2-year-old daughter, according to authorities.
Nicholas Burnette Clark, 22, and Sheila Amanda Hendley, 21, had been living at 2 Yadkin Ave., in Georgetown, but were each wanted on charges of murder and felony child abuse in Mooresville, N.C., said Carrie Cuthbertson, public information officer for the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.
On Wednesday, sheriff’s deputies assisted Mooresville police officers and agents with the State Law Enforcement Division in taking the couple into police custody on the charges, she said.
The couple is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center pending extradition to North Carolina.
The charges stemmed from March when Mooresville police were called to a home in that town and found the couple’s toddler had died.
No other details were released about the incident.
