— Horry County police took a Longs man into custody in connection with a December robbery in Conway, according to authorities.

Christopher Jamal Montgomery, 20, of Longs was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 11:03 a.m. Sunday on two counts of armed robbery and a simple possession of marijuana charge, according to jail records.

Horry County police arrested Montgomery about 12:30 p.m. Sunday after receiving a call from a concerned resident on Pint Circle about a man standing in the roadway possibly selling drugs, according to the report. Officers approached Montgomery and when they checked his name they learned he was wanted by Conway police on the robbery charges.

A small amount of marijuana was seized by Horry County police from Montgomery when he was arrested, according to the report.

The robbery charges stemmed from about 11:30 p.m. Dec. 28 when a man told police he was robbed on Singleton Street in Conway, according to a Conway police report.

Deaungela Shante Latrice Montgomery, 21, of Conway also is charged on Jan. 8 with accessory before the fact of a felony, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping and first-degree burglary. She is being held at the jail on $155,000 bond, according to jail records.

The victim said he gave a female acquaintance a ride and waited for her at her request, according to the Conway police report. While waiting, the victim said he became uncomfortable and was preparing to leave, when a man pointed a gun at his face through the open passenger door. The victim said he was forced out of the car and onto the ground at gunpoint.

The victim told police the suspects took $6, and his phone, then ordered him into the trunk of the car, but he ran instead to a home on Ward Circle and called police, according to the report. The victim said he knew woman’s first name and where she lived.

Officers went to her address on Singleton Street and later found the victim’s car near Taylor Square, according to the report. Police identified the woman as Shante Montgomery and the man was identified as Christopher Montgomery.
