Body piercing could be coming to Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach

Published: February 4, 2013

Body piercing might soon be allowed at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach.

The North Myrtle Beach City Council will consider amending the entertainment hub’s planned development district to add body piercing as a permitted use.

Barefoot Landing is in negotiations with a person who wants to open a body jewelry store at Barefoot that will also offer body piercing, John Hall, vice president of operations at Barefoot, said in a Dec. 7 letter to the city.

It’s unclear when the store planned to open, if the city agrees to allow body piercing there. Hall could not be immediately reached Monday morning.

The city’s Planning Commission voted unanimously last month to approve the change to allow body piercing at Barefoot.

The City Council will discuss the request during its meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at North Myrtle Beach City Hall, 1018 Second Avenue South.
