A North Myrtle Beach teenager was arrested Tuesday for alleged criminal sexual misconduct against a 7-year-old girl.

Shawn Michael Henderson, 16, is being charged as an adult, said city spokesman Pat Dowling. He remains lodged in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center under a $30,000 bond.

Police were notified after the victim was taken to the doctor’s office Tuesday and talked about the incident, which allegedly occurred on Dec. 31.
