After this previous election, we now have both career and career wannabe politicians coming out of the woodwork in support of an immigration bill based on what’s best for their re-election instead of what’s best for America. This represents an acknowledgement that these same politicians have failed miserably when it comes to doing their job of protecting our borders.

Their abysmal performance has allowed the problem to get so far out of control that they must now vote to legalize these illegal intruders or lose their jobs at the polling booth. By supporting this bill, they are acknowledging that they will once again place their own personal interests ahead of the best interests of America. Instead, they will support the illegals in an attempt to save their jobs. What’s wrong with this picture, America?

I have now been reading suspicious polls stating that a majority of America now supports a path to citizenship for these illegal immigrants. I think that nothing can be further from the truth. This can be nothing more than an attempt at brainwashing. A huge percentage of the people to whom I have spoken do not support a path to citizenship for illegals. However, an equal percentage is in 100 percent support of legal immigration.

This explains the correlation between this major illegal immigration problem and another major problem – the lack of term limits for our politicians. Far too many of them have been living off of the fat of the land for far too long. And they have every intention of continuing to do so for as long as we let them. Hence, they will vote for this bogus bills if it will save their jobs. Can anyone name even one meaningful thing that politicians like John McCain and Joe Lieberman have done for this country in the past decade?

Let’s pray that someone comes to their senses and ends up doing what’s doing what’s right for America instead of what’s right for a bunch of useless politicians.
