Child spanked, Conway couple charged

A Conway couple was arrested over the weekend for allegedly “spanking” a 7-year-old child.

Amber Tyler, 27, and Mike McDaniel, 29, were both charged with cruelty to children. They were released Sunday on a $1,000 bond each.

According to an Horry County police report, the child told authorities of being “spanked” on numerous days and was told to lie on his bed while being “spanked” with a belt and shoe by both suspects.

The child also told authorities the two made him bite on soap at times, but does not know why, the report stated.

Police reportedly observed bruises on the child’s shins and buttocks.

There is no immediate indication as to the child’s relationship to the suspects.

Man accused of assaulting woman

A Myrtle Beach man was arrested Sunday after a day of drinking on Saturday spilled into Sunday and he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend at a local motel.

Anthony Mark Golinski, 27, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with criminal domestic violence and booked into the Myrtle Beach Jail.

The victim told police Golinski had been drinking all day Saturday before yelling and cursing at her that whole night, according to the incident report.

After she fell asleep, Golinski reportedly tried to choke her, but she was able to block his hands from getting around her neck.

He then started yelling and cursing again, pulled her hair and punched her in the back of the head.

Eventually, the fighting stopped and the two went to sleep on opposite sides of the room, according to the report. The yelling and cursing resumed in the morning, and Golinski allegedly started punching the victim in the back of the head again.

The victim was able to leave the room and go into the motel office to call the police.

Golinski was later arrested at the motel.

Police investigate Sunday night shooting

A shooting Sunday night in Conway left one person with a gunshot wound to the leg, and police asking for the public’s help in finding the shooter.

The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. in the 1500 block of Hiland Avenue within the city limits, according to a press release.

When officers arrived, the found the victim with a gunshot wound to his right leg.

There were several bullet holes in the home and a shattered front glass door.

The victim was taken to Conway Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

The residents said they were inside playing video games when they heard the gunshots, the release stated.

No money, hot water leads to assault

A Myrtle Beach man upset because there was no hot water landed in some Sunday after he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman.

Victory Robinson Trusty Jr., 45, was charged with criminal domestic violence and booked into the Myrtle Beach Jail.

According to a Myrtle Beach police incident report, Trusty and the victim were at a Myrtle Beach hotel located at 301 N. Ocean Blvd., and in their room drinking alcohol on Sunday morning.

The woman told police Trusty became upset because they had no money left and there was no hot water for him to take a shower.

He became angry at the victim and started yelling, at which point the argument turned physical, the report stated.

Trusty reportedly held the victim down on the bed and punched her four times in the face.

Police were notified by the motel clerk, who heard a commotion from the room.

The suspect left when he heard the police had been called, but was found not far from the motel.
