Travelers at Myrtle Beach International Airport will go to a new spot starting Wednesday to rent a car.
The new, standalone rental car building outside the terminal will open at 4 a.m. Wednesday. All the rental car companies are expected to move out of the current terminal into the new building.
The building was originally expected to open in October, but was delayed because metal panels for the exterior of the building didn’t arrive in time.
Construction on the new 240,000-square-foot terminal is expected to be done March 19, about a month later than planned because of delays in deliveries caused by Hurricane Sandy.
An opening date for the new terminal hasn’t yet been set.
The $118 million expansion includes the new terminal, rental car building, restaurants and parking.
