I was deeply saddened when I put on the TV news this morning which was reporting on the inauguration. They showed an elderly gentleman situated in a tree imploring the people to “Save the babies!” The angry crowd was shouting back, “Go to jail!”

I thought of Jesus who tried to reach the people of this world with his message of love, only to hear the crowd shouting “crucify him!”

Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing.
