Arts galore at three sites

All three area major exhibitors of art have a winter full of exhibits, for free unless otherwise noted.

• At the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum, see “Icons & Idols: A Photographer’s Chronicle of the Arts 1960-1995,” 137 photographs by Jack Mitchell, through March 17, and “Mullen: 2009-2012” and “Room with a View: Selections from the Permanent Collection,” both through April 25.
