January 20, 2013

A homeless woman was hit and killed by a sport-utility vehicle at about 7 p.m. Saturday as she attempted to cross Kings Highway at about 23rd Avenue North, according to city police and Darris Fowler, Horry County’s assistant coroner.

Debra Hall, 53, was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Fowler said the cause of death was multiple trauma.

Fowler said Hall is originally from North Carolina but had been living in the Myrtle Beach area for the past two years.

No charges have been filed and the incident remains under investigation.
