A Brunswick County man and a juvenile were arrested Thursday night and charged in connection with a New Years Day beating that led to a man’s death a few days later.

Nickolas Wayne Smith, 21, of Leland, and the 16-year-old teen were both charged with second-degree murder, according to a press release.

The two are accused in the death of Hartford Talmage Sellers III.

William Joseph Connolly, 52, was previously charged with assault with a deadly weapon in connection to the incident.
