Wednesday’s area sports briefs

CCU Tennis

The preseason Big South men’s and women’s poll came out on Wednesday.

The Chanticleers men were picked to finish second along with Campbell. Both teams received 62 points. Radford was picked to win the men’s.

The women were selected to finish third after gaining 78 points. Winthrop and Charleston Southern were ahead of Coastal with Winthrop picked to win.

High school wrestling

Carolina Forest wasn’t the only school set a new single-season wins record on Tuesday night. Aynor went 3-0 on the evening and set a new record with 25 wins. The Blue Jackets beat the Panthers for the record breaker.
