"It felt like two lightning bolts moving up through my head," Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes says in his office at Myrtle Beach City Hall on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013. Rhodes said the early symptoms leading up to the discovery of his brain aneurism included a headache, blurry vision and high blood pressure. The symptoms started while he was watching a Beach Ball Classic game at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Dec. 27, 2012. He underwent surgery on Dec. 29, 2012, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Rhodes said only 10-percent of people survive with the condition he had.
