Diners will be able to snag some deals or try special menu items at about a dozen Grand Strand eateries starting today during S.C. Restaurant Week.

Aspen Grille in Myrtle Beach, Drunken Jack’s in Murrells Inlet and Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar at The Market Common are among the dozen local restaurants that will offer specials starting today and running through Jan. 20.

About 120 restaurants across South Carolina are participating in the week, which is designed by the S.C. Restaurant and Lodging Association to showcase the state’s food offerings during what is traditionally one of the slowest times of the year.

The association urges diners who want to take advantage of the deal to make reservations.

“Reports from across the state show that reservations are being made at a brisk pace, especially for the upcoming holiday weekend Jan. 18-20,” David McMillan, managing partner of Drunken Jack’s in Murrells Inlet and chairman of the S.C. Restaurant and Lodging Association, said in an email.

For the first time, hotels also are getting involved by creating packages with restaurants for out-of-towners.
