Attempted murder charges filed after Horry County man stabbed during drug deal

— Two men are being held on charges after a stabbing that occurred earlier this week during a drug deal in Horry County, according to authorities.

Tray Levert Cox, 18, of Longs

and Tevin Daiwan Gause, 20, of Conway, each faces a charge of attempted murder and was being held Wednesday at J. Reuben Long Detention Center, according to jail records.

The charges stem from about 7:45 p.m. Monday when Horry County police were called to 9193 S.C. 90 for a stabbing, said Sgt. Robert Kegler of the Horry County Police Department. Officers found a man had suffered a stab wound to his upper body and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The man is in stable condition.

Detectives learned the victim was stabbed by two men during a drug transaction, Kegler said. Police were able to find the men a short time later and took them into custody.
