Re Dec. 31 letter by John M. Schaeffer, “S.C. hacking scandal boggles the mind”

I too was a computer programmer, systems analyst, and consultant with an insurance company for over 30 years before retiring 20 years ago. During that time I was also involved in software acquisition.

I know that I am not currently involved, but it seems to me that someone on the inside had to know the data formats, etc., to hack the system.
