Georgetown will have a new administrator in a month.

Chris Carter was selected to be the new city administrator, the City Council announced Tuesday.

Carter comes from Williston where he has been the town administrator for two years.

He has previously served as city manager in both North Wilksboro, N.C. and Hendersonville, N.C.

The North Carolina Native is a University of North Carolina-Greensboro and Appalachian State University alumnus.

He will begin work in the city of Georgetown on Feb. 7. Georgetown’s previous administrator Chris Eldgridge left last year to become the county administrator in Horry County.
