Georgetown police search for two men in home invasion robbery, assault

— Georgetown police are searching for two men suspected in a home invasion and armed robbery where a woman was cut on her back with an utility knife, according to authorities.

Officers were called about 11 a.m. Monday to a home in the 1200 block of Church Street, where they learned a 56-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were home when two men, who wore jeans, black hooded sweatshirts and masks, knocked on the door and forced their way incident, police said. One man was armed with a gun while the other had a knife.

The robbers demanded money and when the woman did not comply with their demands, police said she was forced to a rear bedroom and cut on her back until she told them where the money was located, according to Georgetown police.

The robbers then ran out of the house with an undisclosed amount of money.

The woman was taken to Georgetown Memorial Hospital for treatment and was later released.
