MYRTLE BEACH — Myrtle Beach police arrested a 44-year-old man late Monday on charges he threatened another man with a knife after trespassing at a home on Fifth Avenue North, according to a police report.

Anthony Desmond Booker, 44, who is homeless, was charged with first-degree assault and battery by a mob, first-degree burglary and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to an arrest report.

The 42-year-old victim told officers he was at a home in the 400 block of Fifth Avenue North, when Booker walked in without consent and approached him with a knife in his hand, police said. The victim said Booker did not stab him or attempt to stab him, but said “I’m going to get you.”

The victim said he feared for his life so he grabbed a nearby broom and hit Booker in the face several times, according to the report. The victim and a witness forced Booker out of the house and called police.

Officers took Booker into custody at the scene for a trespass violation and later charged him in connection with the knife incident. Officers seized a knife from Booker and noted he had minor abrasions to the right side of his face.
