• Join the Carolina Patriots Jan. 15 when their guest speakers will be Horry County Councilman Al Allen and former Horry councilman Mark Lazarus. Both are running to replace Rep. Tom Rice as county chairman.

•  Horry County Republicans will host its monthly meeting Monday featuring comments from retired U.S. Army Col. Ken Allard and Jennie Smith, founder of Coastline Women’s Center.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at Horry County GOP headquarters at The Founders Center on Oak Street in Myrtle Beach.
