Toni Boutwell’s latest screed (Jan. 1, “Surcharges, fees could fund armed guards proposals”) is a sterling suggestion.
In fact, it’s such a marvelous idea that we should immediately fund the investigative bureaucracy needed with a national 100 percent surtax on the school millage of liberal enclaves like Pawleys Island and Murrells Inlet. By paying just a little more, the well off folks in these and similar communities could demonstrate their commitment to containing gun ownership.
