A 23-year-old Myrtle Beach man was charged with peeping Tom late Thursday after a woman reported the day before she caught him peering through her bedroom and kitchen windows at their apartment complex, according to authorities.

Tony Darin Hayes, 23, of Myrtle Beach was arrested just before 11 p.m. Thursday at 1301 Pridgen Road, according to an arrest report. Hayes was being held at the Myrtle Beach Jail at 8 a.m. Friday pending a bond hearing.

The charge stemmed from a 24-year-old woman calling police to report that at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at the same apartment complex where Hayes was arrested, she was with her children and talking to her boyfriend on the telephone when she saw a man looking through her bedroom window, police said.

The woman said a vehicle that pulled into the apartment complex parking lot scared him away, but later on she noticed him peering through her kitchen window, according to the report. The victim recognized the man, Hayes, as her neighbor, and later that day she reported her concerns to the apartment complex manager.

The manager reviewed video surveillance and made a copy for police, according to the report. The video showed a man looking through the woman’s bedroom window, and then he stood near the woman’s door before he returned to his apartment.

Officers went to the Hayes’ apartment and spoke to his wife, who told police he was not there, according to the report. Officers searched the area, but did not find him.
