Newspaper’s headline misspelling shocking

Published: December 12, 2012

Today's “Breaking News” headlines online contained a shocking headline, not so much for the subject of the article, but for the lack of command of the English language shown by the reporter.

How can an organization such as The Sun News expect to garner respect from the online community when it allows the headline “Conway man charged with exposing himself to woman at laundry mat” to appear on its front page? It is hard enough to find ways for the nation and the world to respect South Carolina and the South in general without a gaffe like this reinforcing stereotypical misconceptions of an undereducated population.

Since newspapers are in the business of communication, shouldn't The Sun News take a little more care in screening their reporters’ abilities?
