Democrats

•  North Strand Democratic Party will meet 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mick & Mike’s Sports Bar at 1008 U.S. 17 South in North Myrtle Beach.

•  Beach Dems will have Horry County Councilman Marion Foxworth as a speaker during a meeting on Friday at Akels Pancake House at the corner of 65th Avenue North and Kings Highway

The meeting will be from 8 to 9 a.m. Foxworth is the council representative from District 3.

Republicans

•  The South Strand Republican Club will celebrate the Christmas-Hanukkah holiday season with its annual holiday party 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Angelo’s Steak & Pasta House, 2011 S. Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, where Rep. Tim Scott tentatively is the speaker.

A tribute will be made to Scott, for his service and the constituent service he provided for residents of the First Congressional District. Scott will no longer represent the South Strand beginning January 2013.

The cost of the music-dinner celebration is $30 per person including tax, tip and one glass of wine.
