Two men are being treated at a local hospital while Horry County police investigate a shooting and stabbing that occurred near a Galivants Ferry area church, said Sgt. Robert Kegler.

The incident started near Happy Home Baptist Church at 2866 Nichols Highway in Galivants Ferry where two men argued over property, Kegler said. One was shot and one was stabbed, but both are in good condition, Kegler said.

Police were first called for the shooting victim at the church at 12:40 p.m. About 20 minutes later, police then went to the area of Enoch Road where the stabbing victim was found.

No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed, Kelger said. The incident remains under investigation by the Violent Crimes Division.

The fight was not drug related, Kegler said.
