Thanksgiving prayer was perfect for holiday

Published: November 27, 2012

My son, who is a pastor, usually says the prayer before our family Thanksgiving dinner. But I saw David Duckworth’s prayer for Thanksgiving in the paper and I knew that I wanted to read it at dinner. When it came time to pray, my wife said that I wanted to read a prayer, then my son could pray. I read Mr Duckworth’s prayer and even the children got quiet.

When I finished, I looked to my son who said “There’s nothing I can add to that except to say Amen.”

Thank you, Mr. Duckworth, for saying what each of us should say every day.
